RAD exceeds yield expectations for 2009 harvest season
18.08.2009
On August 10, farmers of Russian Agricultural Division started harvesting of winter crops. ‘Agrofirma ‘Niva’ of the Solton district became the first to conduct operations, with harvested acreage now reaching just under 70 ha. Expecting good weather to continue, RAD says by end of this week all farming units will join the campaign.
First results appear to be satisfying: contrary to the projected 20 hundredweight per ha, the farm has reported that the average yield per hectare amounted to 29 hundredweight. Implementation of pioneer agronomic methods has allowed to achieve a 36.5% increase on the prior-year figure.
At ‘Niva’, the company already started using the new harvester equipment manufactured by Acros. Mechanics have completed a training course to ensure successful operations.
RAD is a farming subsidiary of PAVA intending to become a leading producer of agricultural commodities, supplied to domestic and overseas markets. The company aims to increase land bank, currently standing at 160,000 ha and unlock its yield potential through efficient farming. |
